Integrated  Child  Development Services

  The objectives of the scheme are:- 

 

    1) To improve the Nutrition and Health status of children in the age group of 0-6years.

    2) To lay the foundation  for physical, mental, language, cognitive and social development of the child.

    3) To reduce the incident of motality, morbidity, malnutrion and dropout.

    4) To enhance the capability of the mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the  child through 

        proper nutrition and health education and

    5) To achieve effective co-ordination of policy and implementation amongst the various departments to promote child

        development

BENEFITS PROVIDED :-

 

1)    To adolescent Girls  

  • Imparting Training on Health and Family life education, personality development, self confidence , leadership qualities and Vocational training

 

  • Health and Nutrition Education .

 

  • Distribution of IFA Tablets every Thursday.

2)    To  Pregnant  Women 

  • Early registration of  pregnancy.

 

  • Co-ordination with village Health Nurses in  immunization and regular Health check-up.

 

  • Weight taking to monitor the growth of fetus.

 

  • Distribution of supplementary food from  the  6-month of   Pregnancy.

 

  • Health and Nutrition  education.

 

  • Referral of High risk   Pregnancies.

 

  • Facilitating for institutional delivery.

3)    To lactating mothers 

  • Advocating colustrum feeding, exclusive breast feeding for 6 months, initiation of  complementary feeding after six months and continuation of breast feeding up to 2 years or beyond.

 

  • Distribution of supplementary food up to 6 months.

 

  • Health and Nutrition Education.

 

  • Motivation for adoption of family welfare methods.

4)    0-3 years children

  • Regular  growth monitoring by weighing monthly once.

 

  • Distribution of supplementary food for 6months 3 years children.

 

  • Co-ordination with VHN in immunizing the children.

 

  • Referral of malnourished children to the Primary Health Center.

 

  • Counseling sessions to  parents of malnourished children.

 5)    2-6 years children

  • Growth monitoring by weighing quarterly.

 

  • Enroll  children  in Anganwadi  centres and provide  Pre-school education and mid-day meals.

 

  • Ensuring overall development of the children ie.  physical, mental,  cognitive, language,  and social development by non formal Pre-school education.

 

  • Along with mid-day meal,  distribution of boiled eggs on Mondays , Wednesdays and Thursdays, 20gms boiled Green Grams/Bengal grams on Thursdays  and 20gms boiled  potato on Fridays.

 

  • Early deduction of disability if any and referral services.

SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING :-

 

           Weaning food is provided for the children in the age group of 6 months 3years children, Antenatal mothers (6month of pregnancy) and Postnatal mothers for 6 months.
