A BODY BUILT UP FOR PROMOTION OF INDIAN APPAREL EXPORTS

Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), a nodal agency under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has been entrusted with the task of working towards projecting India’s image and introducing Indian Apparel Exporters to the International market, with an idea of “Dressing up the World”.

AEPC – INDIAN EXPORTERS’ WINDOW TO THE WORLD

Over the last 30 years, the council has been continuously involved in the task of promoting exports by organizing buyer-seller meets, leading trade delegations to potential markets globally, participating in specialized international fairs, organizing the India International Garment Fair biannually, organizing seminars on fashion and workshops on technical aspects of the industry.  In its constant endeavour to promote and expose Indian garments in the International market for greater visibility and choice of products.

Getting new buyers / importers to evince interest in India and to showcase India’s capabilities in the international market has been a major task for AEPC.  Activities to achieve these goals have been:

2. Organizing buyer-seller meets through domestic and international fairs,

    seminars an  workshops.

3. AEPC plays a large role in dissemination of market information through

    various  media, both to buyers and sellers.

    abroad.

AEPC – FARING WELL WITH FAIRS

To attract the attention of the world’s leading fashion houses and to impress upon the international trading community, India’s richness in garments, AEPC, organizes:

INDIA KNIT FAIR twice in a year in Tiruppur, the Knitwear Capital of India, projects the strength of India’s versatility in knitwear items and India International Garment Fair twice a year in New Delhi.  In these fairs displays are for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter Collections, providing the perfect forum for Indian garment manufacturers to showcase their latest designs.

KNITWEAR TECHNOLOGY MISSION (KTM) AT TIRUPPUR

With the same endeavor, AEPC is setting up KNITWEAR TECHNOLOGY MISSION (KTM)  in Tiruppur. The objective of the Mission is to help the exporting community to go in for wider range of products in different kinds of fabrics to a large market.  We thank Shri Rakesh Vaid, Chariman, AEPC for the kind gesture in choosing Tiruppur for Setting up this Mission.

AEPC – TRAINING MANPOWER

To impart to the manpower required at the shop-floor level, AEPC has been setting up Apparel Training and Design Centres at different garment manufacturing centres in India to help improve the efficiency and productivity of the Garment Industry and helps to meet higher demands anticipated in the export market.  Considering these aspects as an objective, the Apparel Training & Designing Centre, Sponsored by Apparel Export Promotion Council, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India was set-up in various cities to conduct vocational courses on garment manufacturing at ship floor level.  The courses are specially designed as required in small & medium level enterprises which dominate the garment industry.  The training is offered in order to upgrade the technical skills of the students / employees working in the garment industry in such a way to undertake job independently in the field of draping, pattern construction, grading, product development, construction techniques, clothing technique & technology, fabric studies, quality control, production systems, machinery, finishing & packing, garment checking, export procedures & documentation etc.
